What is the best connection with the use of flat panel MacBook?
I use my Samsung 46 "flat screen TV as a monitor for my MacBook. I plan to get a Bluetooth / keyboard to mouse to use my MacBook from the sofa and use the TV on the wall of my monitor. My TV has HDMI, component and inputs from PC and I have to know what will give me the maximum image clarity. I also have a Philips DVD / home theater system I use for audio. Should I use an HDMI cable from my MacBook to my TV and then run the audio from TV to the Philips and I run a PC input to TV and stereo RCA inputs on the Philips separately? I know you'll have a mini-DVI cable to something for my MacBook to start. If you know of a better cheaper way / to do, Let me know! Thanx.
HDMI and DVI are both digital format and are almost identical other than the HDMI can make the sound too. Or should I give true HD image. If you are using a DVI to HDMI adapter, I guess no sound in HDMI input to TV. I run three cables from my sound card (front / sub, surround back, front left / right), directly to my A / V amplifier surround decoder. My 48 "JVC TV has a 1080i option to use the TV speakers as center channel. That works well. If you have digital output of your sound card in their digital and Phillips all you need an audio cable.
